WHY CENTRAL OREGON (CO)

WE’RE AT THE HEART OF IT ALL.

Sisters is a vibrant, artsy mountain community located in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains and surrounded by National Forests. Because Central Oregon sits in the rain shadow of the Cascade Mountains, the climate is dry and sunny with an average of 250 days of sunshine each year, 11 inches of rain, and 21 inches of snow. It offers a four-season climate with moderate temperatures in the day and cool nights.

Sisters serves as the gateway to Central Oregon. It’s minutes away from Hoodoo Ski Area, the Metolius River, and Smith Rock State Park. Some of the country’s best hiking and mountain biking trails start in Sisters.

Central Oregon is the largest industrial center East of the Cascade Mountains, led by brewing, tech, data centers, and outdoor products.

Those who choose to live in a larger town will have a short commute. Located just 30 minutes away are Redmond and Bend. The region offers a variety of settings, from small-town suburbs to quiet and remote country living.

Bend is the cultural and creative heart of Central Oregon. Thanks to the mild climate and many days of sunshine, the city is a hotbed for festivals of all kinds, celebrating the seasons, beer, art, and much more. Bend has a lively music scene that celebrates bands. You can always find music -- from pubs and bars to Friday Art Walk, to concerts at the Les Schwab Amphitheater. One of the top indie film festivals, the BendFilm Festival, is hosted in Bend. The historic Tower Theater in downtown Bend is a performing arts concert hall where you will find events ranging from concerts, plays, movies, and musicals. And the list goes on.

Known for the most breweries per capita of any place in the United States, Bend is flooded with renowned breweries, which are complemented by a rise in cider makers, wineries, distilleries, and boutique cannabis shops. So, there really is something for everyone.
