Mechanical and Control Services
Predictive and preventative routine maintenance is the core of ESI operational services. Routine service such as oil care, valve adjustments, and detailed records provide proactive service to manage potential failures. In-house responsiveness to non-routine failures such as dropped valves, turbo misalignment, exhaust manifold leaks, and wiring harness shorts help to maximize uptime.
ESI mechanical staff. For reciprocating facilities, these services can include top-end, in-frame, and major overhauls. Cylinder head rework is completed based on high performance engine standards allowing the potential for extended runtime periods. Major overhauls include replacing the main bearings, as well as potentially rewinding the generator. It is generally more efficient to remove the engine from the facility and complete the major overhaul off-site.
In-house and On-site Failure Analysis
With industrial forensics expertise, ESI personnel can diagnose equipment failure. Failure surface, material selection, and workmanship are investigated to determine root cause of the failure. When the failure is understood, ESI personnel can recommend or provide corrective actions to reduce future risk and optimize performance.
ESI staff has managed many facility startups through multiple dealers and varying sizes of facilities. Many facility start-ups include integration with the fuel collection and treatment system, the prime mover, and the utility interconnect. ESI has provided initial operational services and training on numerous new construction projects which has allowed client personnel to gain experience for a new facility under 3rd party operators.
ESI provides ongoing compliance monitoring and reporting for numerous BGTE facilities and GCCS systems. ESI is experienced in compliance work for the most difficult air districts in the nation including California.
The Operational Data Management System (ODMS)
Developed out of a recognized need by power generation facility operators at ESI, the ODMS provides owners and operators alike with clear, concise, and reliable data management. ODMS is a web based data storage and acquisition system designed to streamline power generation facility operations.
The ODMS web based system allows owners to:
• Track and trend changes in routine and non-routine maintenance.
• Look back on historical data.
• Make educated decisions regarding budget and maintenance program.
